Luka Petravic is a 6th year medical student at the University of Maribor, Slovenia and visiting SurgBioMech as a recipient of the American Slovenian Education Foundation Junior Fellowship. As a member of SurgBioMech, Luka will assist with aorta segmentation and data preparation. He is the co-founder of the SiOHCA project (siohca.si), which is successfully creating the groundwork for tracking cardiac arrests outside of hospitals in Slovenia. He volunteers his time managing the Doctors project at the Sledilnik (zdravniki.sledilnik.org). He has been researching bacteriophages, nutrition, and health technology, among other fields. His previous honors include the Dr. Uroš Seljak commendation in 2022 and the Perlach commendation in 2023. During the summer quarter, he will be joining the lab.
